This is a painting of the colored pencil piece I did.  This captures a John Deere combine cutting sorghum in my family's field.  This piece was done with tempera paint.  I used several highlights and tones to get the values for the combine.

This colored pencil piece was done for a patriotic contest.  It is of the American flag with different national symbols within the stripes.  The flag makes one look past the stars and stripes into our nation's history.

I chose to do a pencil drawing of a picture that my sister took of a flower growing in our garden.  I enjoy drawing flowers and floral patterns, and pencil is one of my favorite mediums.  I used a blending stump to blend the pencil and created values in the drawing.
